Say "unlimited rice" and people will flock like geese on migration day, myself included.
So when I heard about this new restaurant in town which offers unlimited rice, I just had to go.
Few streets down from school at the newly opened condominium SM Jazz, the ground floor is converted into a mini mall, hence SM Jazz Mall.
Zabo's interiors reminiscent of a garden with its comfortable and homey feel. I loved the vine lamps so much, I wanted one for myself.
The good news is they offer unlimited rice but the better news is it comes in 6 varieties.
You can add Php 29 to any meal and you can enjoy zabo rice, carrot rice, garlic rice, spicy rice, brown rice and good old plain rice.
Chicken Rice Bowl (Php 99)
For the budget-concious, zabo offers meals in bowls. The chicken is the same as that in quarter roast, just shredded.
Quarter Roast Chicken (Php 165)
The chicken was great, it can even rival my love for Kenny Roger's Roasters. It was packed with spices and cooked that the skin was crisp and the meat bite-worthy.
Beef Rice Bowl (Php 120)
The beef was so-so and we couldn't stand the Zabo rice. Maybe it's because we're not quite familiar with it and the middle eastern taste was evident.
Bottomless Drinks (Php 50ea)
Lemonade is from a vendo I think, which is practically the same with those served elsewhere.
The best out of the six choices of rice, was the Carrot rice. It was light, slightly greasy and sweet to taste. It was almost like chinese, only carrot-y.
MUST TRY: Zabo Chicken, Carrot Rice
